Frequently asked questions
How long is a visit?
You can choose between different packages: Basic (15 minutes), Comfort (25 minutes) or Premium (40 minutes).
The best option depends on your cat, their daily routine and how much care or attention is needed.
During the introduction visit, we look together at what suits both your cat and your wishes as an owner.
Do you visit beforehand to meet my cat?
Yes. Before the first cat sitting period, we always plan a free introduction visit at your home.
This is not only for practical details, but especially to meet your cat calmly.
We discuss the daily routine, feeding, litter box, personality, favourite spots, medication and any special requirements.
This helps keep the care as familiar as possible while you are away.
Will I receive updates while I am away?
Yes. After every home visit you receive a personal update via WhatsApp.
During the visit, I try to take a few nice photos or short videos whenever your cat is comfortable with that.
I send the best moments to you, so you can see how things are going at home.
Can my cat stay at home?
Yes, that is exactly the main advantage of cat sitting at home.
Many cats become stressed by a cattery or temporary move. New smells, unfamiliar sounds and a different environment can cause a lot of tension.
With cat sitting at home, your cat stays safe in their familiar environment, with the same smells, sleeping places and daily routine.
What if my cat needs medication?
Giving medication according to the owner's instructions is possible.
During the introduction visit, we calmly discuss what care is needed and how your cat usually responds.
There is experience with oral medication such as tablets and liquid medication, as well as with cats with asthma who need a daily inhaler.
What happens if something seems wrong or there is an emergency?
During every visit, Kattenoppas Enschede pays attention to your cat's behaviour, health and wellbeing.
This includes appetite, general condition and noticeable changes such as small wounds, ticks, signs of illness or unusual behaviour.
During the introduction visit, an emergency contact and the details of your own veterinarian are recorded.
If there are any concerns, we contact you and discuss the next steps together.
If there is an emergency and immediate action is necessary, Kattenoppas Enschede may independently decide, in the interest of the cat, to contact a veterinarian or visit a veterinarian.
The cat's own veterinarian is always preferred. If they are not available, another available veterinarian or emergency clinic will be chosen.
Because visits are carried out by car, your cat can be transported safely if needed.
Transport and assistance to the veterinarian have an additional fee. Any veterinary costs, treatments and medication always remain the responsibility of the owner.
Can you care for multiple cats?
Yes, multiple cats are no problem.
Every cat has their own personality, routine and needs. That is why we discuss the situation carefully during the introduction visit.
It is important to allow enough time. More cats often means more care, cleaning and attention.
Together we choose the package that fits best.
Can you water plants and collect mail?
Yes, depending on the package, small extra tasks can be included.
With Basic, the full focus is on your cat: food, water, litter box and a wellbeing check.
With Comfort and Premium, there is more room for extra tasks such as watering plants, collecting mail or putting out the bin.
How does key handover and key keeping work?
Before the cat sitting period, we agree together how the key will be handed over.
For regular clients, I also offer free key keeping. This means I keep a key safely, so a new handover is not needed for every booking.
Keys are stored securely without an address label or recognisable personal details.
Can I request a visit at short notice?
Sometimes something unexpected happens and you need cat sitting quickly.
Depending on availability, urgent requests within 48 hours may be possible at the urgent visit rate.
Because this often requires extra planning or changes to the schedule, a separate rate applies.
Do you also visit outside Enschede?
Kattenoppas Enschede mainly focuses on Enschede and the immediate surrounding area.
Do you live in a nearby village? Feel free to get in touch. Depending on distance, planning and availability, we can look at the options together.
Additional travel costs may apply for locations outside the standard service area.
How do you prevent transferring anything between different cats?
The health and safety of every cat always comes first.
Because I visit multiple households, I follow standard hygiene measures between visits.
This includes washing or disinfecting my hands, working cleanly and taking extra precautions when a cat is unwell.
This helps reduce risks and ensures safe and responsible care for every cat.
